Account Manager – Natural Resources / Defence

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our fast-paced consulting business, to support growing industries in Canada, including natural resources and defence. The ideal candidate is customer centric, passionate about helping business owners achieve their goals, and eager to expand our client services and grant management capabilities. At Granted, Account Managers drive business growth by prospecting new leads, understanding client business needs, expanding client relationships, and identifying grant opportunities that help clients thrive. 

This role offers exposure to multiple industries, opportunities to develop strategic consulting skills, and direct impact on the success of small businesses across Canada.

This role will include three primary skills sets:

  1. Proactive Business Development: Drive new business by proactively pursuing new business opportunities and generating new leads. This includes leveraging opportunities through referral business and participating in activities that may include events, webinars, trade shows, and social media lead generation. You will be expected to achieve measurable KPIs for prospecting, client acquisition, and for submitted and approved applications.
  2. Account Management : Oversee a book of clients through the full client lifecycle from sourcing to discovery and closing to retention, while maintaining high conversion rates throughout. This is achieved by developing relationships with prospects and clients by building trust, consistent and quality communication, simplifying complex grant applications, being curious, proactively coming up with new ideas and solutions, and overall being a client-centric partner or extension of the clients business.  
  3. Client-centric Service & Ongoing Support: Deliver exceptional client experience to build brand loyalty by collaborating closely with the internal team to manage the sales funnel. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial in your ability to collaborate and communicate with coworkers and clients.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Drive Revenue & Sales:  Own the full cycle sales process including prospecting new leads, navigating the C-suite and business line owners, negotiating contracts, and closing new and renewal business with customers
  • Client Communication: Handle inbound and outbound customer communication and organize/ escalate issues appropriately
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate and work with different members of Granted (Strategy Consultants, Operations, Finance,Data, Leadership, etc.) to build strategic plans and drive execution for customers 
  • Client Compliance & Relationship Management: Keep clients in good standing (i.e. compliance with grants, payments, and agreements. Manage client relationships, documentation and proactively implement grant strategies agreed to by clients in the planning phase
  • Client Advocacy: Serve as the voice of the customer and collect feedback to drive continuous improvement across all areas including product
  • Grant Strategy & Insights: Connect with clients regularly to obtain updates on business activities that may be grantable and provide recommendations. Stay informed of new grants and grant changes and assess how they may impact your client book. 

ABOUT YOU

We Are Seeking Candidates Who Have:

  • 3+ years of sales or business development experience preferably in a B2B professional services environment
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent account management experience
  • Practical experience with CRM software (Hubspot) and Google Drive, Dropbox, and MS Office
  • Demonstrated ability in to deliver client-focused solutions tailored customer needs, source and develop new business, and maintain strong client relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with superb attention to detail (to be assessed during interview)
  • Works effectively both independently and in teams.
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Ability to manage, document, and track tasks
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills

* Additionally, the ideal candidate will:

  • Passionate about helping small businesses in Canada succeed by empowering them to grow with grants. 
  • Curious, analytical and strategic in determining the best opportunities/options for your client’s needs
  • Flexible and agile, adapting quickly to changing requirements, deadlines and priorities
  • Have interest in or background experience in natural resources or defence industries, with an understanding of their business challenges and growth opportunities.
  • Experience or a quick ability to learn various digital tools and platforms, including CRM and cloud-based technologies such as Dropbox and Google Drive, efficient in working with Mac OSX as an asset. 

COMPENSATION 

This posting is for a full-time position. 

Annual salary range:

  • Base Salary: $50,000 to $60,000 depending on experience
  • Incentives:
    • Commission:  upon completion of 3 month probation, % based upon grant approvals

Benefits include:

  • Vacation time starts at 10 days and increases by 1 day for every year of tenure capped at 5 years, 
  • 2 paid personal days for when you need those unscheduled days off
  • 5 paid sick day per annum
  • Additional $1500 in extended health benefits/wellness per annum
  • Hybrid remote working model if located in Vancouver. Otherwise this role is fully remote with travel to Vancouver when required. 

Schedule: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week
